:- 5.0 out of 5 stars from T R Williams -- Great resource on turning your book into a business : The title of this book, Your Book is Not a Business Card was intriguing to me. When I read how many authors view and treat their books like a business card- not a business, an Aha moment happened. So how you view your book and position in the marketplace shapes your results? 馃挕 moment ! ( Reviewed in the United States on September 28, 2021 )
- 5.0 out of 5 stars from Daphne V. Smith -- Think outside the book : The world of publishing has changed over the years. No longer is there a need for an agent or traditional distribution. With this evolution comes expanded opportunities for sharing an author's message. Your Book is Not a Business Card expands the potential reach of a message. If a book can change a life, imagine what the other avenues can create. ( Reviewed in the United States on September 28, 2021 )
- 4.0 out of 5 stars from Acorn -- Good Basic Reference for Beginners : This is a very good book for those starting out on the publishing road. The advice is solid but don't expect any 'secret' shortcuts. There aren't any. The author describes the 12 possible income streams but I would have liked more detail on how to set these income streams up. ( Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2021 )
- 4.0 out of 5 stars from Dr. Barry Nadel -- Interesting : This is the second time I have listened to an audiobook. It turned out to be a lengthy interview. The author points out, “A business card POINTS you in the right direction to a business that can solve your problem. A book IS the right direction. - 4.0 out of 5 stars from KC Reader -- Really useful advice for authors : I really like the idea behind this book, that there are many more ways to use a book for income besides sales. I thought it was well organised and written. I will use the advice given for certain in my own journey with books. I was trying to think of an alternative to having the QR codes throughout. I am wondering if it could all be consolidated into one list of resources in the back? I find them a bit distracting even if they do provide good information. - 5.0 out of 5 stars from Jared W. -- Reviewed in the United States on October 14, 2021 : ( I'm working on a non-fiction project right now which I want to reach as many learners as possible, whether they prefer ebooks, softcover books, hardcover books, audio books, online courses, etc. I'm familiar enough with the first four, and if this were a fiction project, I think those first four would suffice. But the point where we step outside the whole book thing and into media that users interact with, like courses and coaching, that's where I needed more insight. To be fair, the author developed an online course for a fiction book once and apparently it did rather well, so perhaps I'll become more openminded about doing that with fiction projects in the future. But for now I'm just focusing on the one project, and "Your Book is Not a Business Card" is really helping me get that plan together. )
- 4.0 out of 5 stars from Kristina Ryan -- Great for beginners in publishing : As an aspiring writer, I've always been a little too afraid to self-publish or seek assistance from a publisher simply because I had no idea what I was doing. I'd read of authors who write one book and its an instant hit and I've heard of others whom have written dozens and still need to work multiple jobs to make ends meat. Yhis book was a real eye-opener of not only more info on the publishing industry, but also steps for me to consider when I am finally ready to look into publishing my work. Kary really seems to know what he is talking about and knows his way around the industry, so he is perhaps the most credible source for this. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2021 )
- 4.0 out of 5 stars from Ejeks -- Just what I have been looking for : This book is the perfect resource for any author or if you are an aspiring author. Great insights and strategies that you can apply to your writing business. One book to create several streams of income right out of the gate. Best of all, these strategies have been time tested by Kary himself so you know they work. One thing that stood out to me in the book is the idea of having a team. Great and powerful idea that authors should implement. For transparency, I got an ARC of this book. ( Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2021 )
